As far as the statue in the second photo. I've been told the Jordan Historical Society has the base however the upper portion was melted during the war. It must have been a neat statue as it was a water fountain for humans, horses, cats and dogs....or so I am told.
Anyone out there have any information on the statue?
I think Bill Crofut's family used to own the grocery store that was on South Main Street.

I remember Crofuts Meat Market. It was next door to the Grand Union Market. My mother used to buy all our meat there, My family left Jordan for Los Angeles in 1957, I miss Jordan of the 50s.

Didn't you live up on Hamilton street across from my grandmother and grandfather, the Gilberts?
No, I lived out at Jones Point at Cross Lake. You mentioned Vidie Palmateer. I lived a couple houses from her. Her cousin Judy lives in Jordan. You could probably find her through her.
