Shrove Tuesday in Jordan, New York

The Jordan Masons held a Shrove Tuesday Dinner last night that was awesome!

If you missed out shame on you. Next year you better get there.

Great pancakes (I think they were buckwheat), real maple syrup, eggs strata (I think this is what they were called), sausage and fresh donuts. All you can eat!

Thanks to the Jordan Masons for carrying on a Jordan tradition. Good job!

For those that may not know what Shrove Tuesday is (Or Fat Tuesday as it is sometimes called) follow this link to the history http://elvis.rowan.edu/~kilroy/JEK/LITCAL/ShroveTuesday.html

JE Community Center

For those that aren't aware that we have a wonderful, fairly new community center.

It's called the Jordan-Elbridge Community Center. Located on NYS Route 31 in Jordan....near the Town Office Building.

You can rent the rooms for events, many organizations have their meetings here, the Seniors have lunches and meetings here.

You can check it out at the Town's website - http://www.townofelbridge.com/

The snow is back

I know we talk about the weather alot but it is a huge factor in our daily lives. Especially here in CNY with all the snow we've had this winter.

Check out Cabin Creek Antiques located on South Main Street in Jordan. You may find that something special you've been searching for. Say hello to Peg and tell her you saw her shop on Village Life-Jordan, NY blog.
The Jordan Memorial Day Committee is working on the Parade of Bands for this year. If your group would like to participate go to www.JordanNY.com and follow the link to the Memorial Day - Jordan page.

Back on-line...

Sorry for not posting since Friday (02.13). I was at the boat show all week and weekend and although I had my netbook with me I was busy all the time. It was a great show!
This photo should make you think of spring! Gotta love the looks of green grass!

Spring is coming....

If you don't think so head on over to the CNY Boat Show & Sale at the Fairgrounds.

It is huge! 300,000+ square feet of boats, marine accessories and more. The Boating Information Center offers boaters safety information, class information, tour information and more.

Check it out by visiting http://www.cnyboatshow.com/

Another sign of spring? The snow is rapidly disappearing in Central New York and we are left with mud puddles, mud and ice. Gotta' love Key West this time of year.

Eagles.....

All this talk and awesome photos of eagles soaring over Onondaga Lake brings me to the pair of eagles residing in the south bay area of Cross Lake.

You won't see great photos of the Cross Lake eagles because they are quite a distance from my camera lens.

You can check out the awesome photos of the Onondaga Lake eagles
