Marina at north end of Cross Lake

What is known as Cross Lake Marina or North Shore Marina is in bankruptcy. According to the Bankruptcy trustee no one is allowed to use the facilities. Of course without being in a lock-down situation there isn't anyone to stop people.

Sad to note that between Baldwinsville and Mud Lock (north end of Cross Lake) there is only one location to purchase gas, Cooper's Marina in Baldwinsville.

The other marina, known as Midway Marina was up for auction a while ago. The bank started the bidding beyond what anyone was willing to pay. So the bank still owns Midway.

Boating traffic in Reach 24 has decreased immensely without these two marinas.

We have heard (not confirmed) that when Cross Lake Marina (North Shore) gets out of bankruptcy, assuming it will go to the prior owners (before North Shore) they are hoping to sell all the property to a developer, which would make it into housing. This will be a
double-whammy to this canal reach.

We have spoken to both the bankruptcy trustee (Cross Lake Marina) and the bank (Midway marina).

Anyone out there know anything else? Like maybe a buyer for Midway?

Working on more photos

It has been suggested we post more older photos of Jordan, maybe in the 1950's. So we're out scrounging around town looking for ol' photos.

Not sure what happened to the photos we were getting of Jordan outhouses other than we never received them. We'll track down the person that was getting them for us. Must be sokme there from the 50's.

If anyone out there in cyberspace has any photos please share them with us. Don't have a scanner? Let us know.

We're having a happy day in Jordan, how about where you are?

Was the kissing bridge across Skaneateles Creek always there?

From sunny Jordan, New York

Now that we are through the steamy heat wave we're actually having some great weather here in Jordan.

Boating on Cross Lake and across Central New York is great. Unfortunately for the Cross Lake area we have lost two marinas, the one on the Seneca river west of Cross Lake and the one at the north end of Cross Lake. Cooper's Marina in Baldwinsville is the only marina in this reach, which is 33-miles from Baldwinsville Lock 24 to Cayuga-Seneca Lock #1 at the north end of Cayuga Lake.

There are new owners at the Cross Lake Park Campgrounds (north end of the lake on Dugar Road which is off NYS Rute 370). Kim & Scott Nixon purchased the park late last year. Moving their young family from Conneticut Kim & Scott are busy changing things around. Cross Lake Park Campground is a "family friendly" camp ground. Stop by and check it out.
