an original Erie Canal Village with a distinctive concentration of nineteenth and early twentieth century architecture. During the 1830-40's and 1870-85's the Erie Canal made Jordan a principal commercial, industrial and transportation center of western Onondaga County.

The "Kissing Bridge"
One of the many beautiful settings in Jordan is the "Kissing Bridge". As you can see in the photo below the bridge follows along side the aqueduct crossing Skaneateles Creek - right thru the village. For those that may not realize the canal towpath is on top of the aqueduct.
