Preparing to honor our heroes
The flags along the streets are in place. Homes in the Village of Jordan are sprucing up from the long winter. Our local veteran's are preparing for the placement of the first group of names on the Veteran's Memorial Wall.
All will be ready by Monday May 26th. Memorial Day - Jordan.
Five (5) commemoration services will take place around the village. The final commemoration will take place at the Veteran's Memorial located on North Main Street at 2:30 pm.
The Parade of Bands will step-off at 3:00 pm. Immediately after the Parade of Bands enjoy the Massing of the Bagpipes which will take place on North Main Street in front of the Veteran's Memorial.
Ten bands, marching units, fire trucks, antique cars & tractors, floats, live reptiles and much more will parade around the village in perfect style. The streets will be lined with hundreds or maybe thousands of residents and visitors.
The First Baptist Church of Jordan will host their annual chicken bar-b-Que on North Main Street at the Masonic Lodge. A little further North on North Main Street St. Patrick's Church will be selling hot dogs and sausage sandwiches. Daddabbo's Pizza at the Four-Corners will be open with all their great food.
On Mechanic Street the BIG M has a wide variety of food including a deli. The library will also be busy with the Friends of the Library holding their annual used book sale and an Ice Cream Social.
The Jordan Histoical Society will hold an Open House at the Jordan Museum... a must visit! The Museum is located within the Jordan Bramley Library, Mechanic Street.
Monday May 26th. Memorial Day-Jordan. Join us as we commemorate our heros who have made the ultimate sacrifice. A great place to spend the day with your family & friends.
