Jordan Village resident Doug posted the below comment under Can't get enough. We thought we should give this its own header.

My wife and I moved here from Syracuse because we loved the quaint little historical village. We love antiques, history the outdoors and friendly neighbors. To our dismay we find that we must suffer loud rock and roll music from a local bar on frequent occasions. Are we the only one's that are bothered by this disruption of peace and quiet?

I also love living in the village of Jordan. I live across the street from this local bar and have to say that the music that sometimes generates out of the building does not bother me. Maybe it is because I know that the business is bringing in many more positive incentives than negative. The building also offers a great diner.
I can remember when that building sat empty, it was very sad to see. I do try to support the neighborhood when I can, too many businesses have not made it in this small town, and we should all do what we can to help out our neighbors who are trying to make a living, and give our village more opportunities.
As the population moves west from Syracuse, Jordan will grow. It is up to the current population and administration to control the kind of growth that will make Jordan a nice place to live. This will bring the right kind of people that will increase our property values and allow the right kind of businesses to thrive. If we allow businesses to pollute the environment (noise pollution included), we will end up with lower property values and a poorer population.
Let us take a lesson from places like Marcellus and Jamesville that have seen prosperity come their villages. This will not happen with loud music playing every nice weekend day during the summer.
I also love living in Jordan, but I think a couple of hours of music should be the least of this towns worries. Quite a few people enjoy the music at this local bar and need something like that. It is always done at a decent hour and then its moved inside, but if you want to know what the real problem is in Jordan, its the drug dealing and threatening of lives right here in the village. Its the loud music and screaming and yelling and traffic every single day and night until the dawn. Its the undesirable traffic speeding up and down the road just to pull up and buy their drugs right here in the streets. That is what should be dealt with. That is what the village residents have had enough of. We can't sit on our front porch, our children cannot ride their bikes. This goes on every single day! The village says there is nothing that can be done about this problem, I guess if we have to live with this, you could probably live with a couple hours of music every once in a while.
