The Canal in NYS

Lots of exciting stuff going on across the state for the canal that Jordan can and will benefit from. Headed to Rome tomorrow to attend a seminar - "Art Walks on Water". Created by Lori Skogg from Brockport her vision is to have an art trail across the state with every community having art work around the streets, canal, whatever.

Another state wide project is "Mural Mania". Started by Mark DeCracker, president of the Lyons Chamber of Commerce the vision is also to have murals in a string of canal communities across the state. The Village Center Committee of Jordan has a meeting with a mural artist in early June. Permission has already been granted by the owner of the Laundromat building (formerly hardware) located on Mechanic Street, behind the bank. The vision is to have 2, maybe 3 different Jordan canal photos painted on the back side (canal side) and the east side (which would be viewable from the USPS office).

Of course this project, like others must wait until the appropriate grant money comes available...and it will.

Another warm an sunny day in Jordan. Spring has really arrived....finally!
