Along the Canalway Trail in Jordan

Is this photo priceless or what?

A wonderful resident of Jordan sent it in to be posted on the blog.

His message:
"I thought you might enjoy this photo, taken Tuesday along the canal trail east of the village. There was lots of wildlife around including turtles, frogs and many pollywogs. Oh, don't forget the sparrow sized mosquito's!"
Thank you for sharing it with us.

Now don't you want to take a walk along the canalway trail?

The hummingbirds are home.....

Our first hummingbird of the season was spotted the other day. Spring is in full bloom!

Have you driven or walked down Main Street in Jordan this week? The leaves on the trees are coming out, the Spring flowers are blooming. Wander along the Canalway Trail to view more signs of Spring. It is absolutely beautiful.

We are so lucky to have such natural beauty in our own backyards. Take a few minutes during your day or after work to stop and enjoy the beauty.

Chamber of Commerce

Did you know we have an active chamber of commerce?

The Greater Jordan-Elbridge Chamber of Commerce began in 1936 (correction) and still works with local business owners today.

Visit their recently re-designed website http://www.elbridge.com/ It is still under construction with new sections being added every couple of days.

The Chamber produces a monthly e-letter for members and the public. You'll read about the business of the month, events in the area, get coupons for local businesses and more. The e-letter is free! To get on the monthly email broadcast send a quick note to mjdoyle@twcny.rr.com

"Buy It Locally" to make sure we don't lose our present shops and stores, PLUS you'll save some gas not to mention it's a good thing to do!

Spring has sprung in Jordan!

Do yourself a favor and take a walk around the Village. Spring is everywhere. Flowers and trees are blooming adding beautiful colors to the already beautiful landscape.

The Village of Jordan is a great place to walk. There are two options; sidewalks around the Village and the Canalway Trail.

The Canalway Trail is also special for bicycles. You can walk to Weedsport or Camillus Erie Canal Park (Sims Store).....better yet ride a bicycle. It is quite a distance to walk.

Visit http://www.jordanny.com/ for information about Jordan.
