Did you know we have our own chamber of commerce in the Jordan-Elbridge area?

The Greater Jordan-Elbridge Chamber of Commerce represents businesses in Elbridge, Jordan, Peru and surrounding areas.

The JE Chamber produces an annual business directory, has a great website, hosts monthly member dinner meetings with guest speakers, sponsors Dollars For Scholars, hosts numerous programs to help needy families in our community, organizes a food booth at the Jordan Fall Festival and much more.

Providing contact information about business members the directory is a great tool to have near the telephone at home, in the office and in the car.

The monthly meetings offer business owners the opportunity to network with other business owners. A great time to share your success stories and not-so-successful stories with each other. Non-members are welcome to the monthly member meetings.

Jordan, New York

Jordan is located at 43°3′57″N 76°28′22″W / 43.06583°N 76.47278°W / 43.06583; -76.47278 (43.065779, -76.472915)[1].
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.0 km²), all of it land.
The village was formerly located on the Erie Canal, which has been re-routed farther north. The New York State Thruway (Interstate 90) passes north of the village, but there is no interchange at all in the town.
Skaneateles Creek flows through the village. The Jordan Aqueduct still stands where the Erie Canal crossed Skaneateles Creek.
Jordan is by the junction of New York State Route 31 and New York State Route 317.

Another local news bite. The JE Language club is holding a Spring Craft Fair on April 4th at the Elbridge Elementary School. They currently have space to rent for artists and crafters. Go to http://www.jordanny.com/ , follow the link for the contract and application.

Memorial Day is coming!

It's time to start making plans for different events over the summer.

Beginning with the start of summer plan to attend the Jordan Memorial Day Commemoration, Parade of Bands and Massing of the Bagpipes Monday May 25, 2009.

Shrove Tuesday in Jordan, New York

The Jordan Masons held a Shrove Tuesday Dinner last night that was awesome!

If you missed out shame on you. Next year you better get there.

Great pancakes (I think they were buckwheat), real maple syrup, eggs strata (I think this is what they were called), sausage and fresh donuts. All you can eat!

Thanks to the Jordan Masons for carrying on a Jordan tradition. Good job!

JE Community Center

For those that aren't aware that we have a wonderful, fairly new community center.

It's called the Jordan-Elbridge Community Center. Located on NYS Route 31 in Jordan....near the Town Office Building.

You can rent the rooms for events, many organizations have their meetings here, the Seniors have lunches and meetings here.
