Now that we are through the steamy heat wave we're actually having some great weather here in Jordan.
Boating on Cross Lake and across Central New York is great. Unfortunately for the Cross Lake area we have lost two marinas, the one on the Seneca river west of Cross Lake and the one at the north end of Cross Lake. Cooper's Marina in Baldwinsville is the only marina in this reach, which is 33-miles from Baldwinsville Lock 24 to Cayuga-Seneca Lock #1 at the north end of Cayuga Lake.
There are new owners at the Cross Lake Park Campgrounds (north end of the lake on Dugar Road which is off NYS Rute 370). Kim & Scott Nixon purchased the park late last year. Moving their young family from Conneticut Kim & Scott are busy changing things around. Cross Lake Park Campground is a "family friendly" camp ground. Stop by and check it out.

On occassion additional photos will be added to albums. Each album can hold 500 photos so be sure to check back often.

The count down begins.......
The hype has begun and the count down begins for the most wonderful Memorial Day around. Come to Jordan Monday May 28th to enjoy your Memorial Day. Several Commemoration services, one of the largest parades in CNY-the Parade of Bands followed by an amazing bagpipe parade called Massing of the Bagpipes (where all bagpipe bands play and march together). Very impressive. All kinds of food will be available all day, the Jordan Museum hosts an Open House and the Jordan Bramley library will hold a Used book sale. Ken Bush Jr. Memorial Day-Jordan Chairperson coordinates an amazing day of remembering our heroes, music, fun and great food. Spend Memorial Day in Jordan this year-Monday May 28th.
We're planning on creating a Memorial Day-Jordan 2007 video for on-line viewing for all of our friends that can't be here. If there is anything special you'd like a photo of let us know.
Also for our out-of-town friends if you'd like a copy of the 2007 Memorial Day-Jordan program email your address and we'll get one out to you. This year we have combined a copy of the Memorial Day-Jordan 1931 program with the 2007 program. Maureen will be wandering around Jordan on Memorial Day handing out programs.
We haven't forgotten the Jordan outhouse video. Like most of us everyone at the Jordan Historical Society are volunteers and this is a very busy time of year. It will be worth the wait.

Jordan is fortunate to be part of the canal-side community network that continues to grow across the state.
